Paloma Picasso Eau De Toilette is for the elegant woman who leads a rich and colourful life. Paloma created this scent for peace: her name means dove in Spanish. It is a strong, rich, heady fragrance with top notes of bergamot, neroli and jasmine. At its passionate heart is rose, ylang ylang and coriander, while base notes of patchouli, vetiver and amber are refined and sensuous. Emile Gillot, her maternal grandfather was a perfumer and this scent shows Paloma inherited her skills. ‘Only a woman would know how to wear it,’ she said at its launch. Released in 1984, this strong signature fragrance blends oakmoss, citrus and bergamot, creating an intensely passionate scent suitable for evening wear. Paloma Picasso is one of the world's most successful jewellery designers. The youngest child of artist Pablo Picasso and his lover, artist and writer Françoise Gilot, Paloma was surrounded by artists from a very young age. Her own creative career began in 1968, when she became a costume designer in her native Paris. Her rhinestone necklaces caused acclaim among critics and Yves Saint Laurent asked her to design accessories to accompany one of his collections. By 1971 she was working for the Greek jewellery company Zolotas. In 1980, she began designing jewellery for Tiffany and Co and soon after she launched her own brand, Paloma Picasso, and created many perfumes and designer fashion accessories, including an eponymous scent and Mon Rouge, a dramatic scarlet lipstick that became her trademark. Paloma Picasso's perfumes are iconic, feminine and creative, just like the luxury goods designer herself.
