Must be old stock. Didn't bother returning but couldn't even polish my nails once. Even tried adding some acetone nail polish remover, usually that does the trick. That didn't even help thinning it out!

I have had far too many shellac manicures--you know, hands in the ultra violet light (to bake and dry the nail paint.) Usually I had done every 2 weeks. BUT ALAS, not any more! Shellac is terrible for the nails and hands (especially the ultra violet light)....I always try to remember and use sun screen before a shellac manicure, but I usually forget. I finally decided I didn't want to depend anymore on expensive, bad-for-your skin shellac manicures--and then tried Revlon's Gel Envy. One thing I won't compromise on is having my cuticles done--so off I went to my manicure shop, with my Gel Envy in hand, and told them to do two things---only 2 topcoats of color (no base coat, what I learned from Revlon), and I also bought the accompanying Gel Envy top coat. That's it--BUT, you need to work quickly with Gel Envy nail polish itself (learned through research)--as I instructed the manicurist to do. That said, wait a minute or two before you apply your second coat of color--and maybe another couple minutes before you apply top coat. This does NOT dry quickly--it took at least 15 minutes sitting under a heated nail dryer for it to feel dry enough to drive home. If I had more time, I would have kept them under the dryer another 5 or 10 minutes. Keep that in mind, especially if you are coloring your nails yourself (or use a warm blow dryer!) The color is nice--a little darker than the charcoal gray shellac I was used to, but also not deep black--some where in between. So far this is the 3rd day and not one chip yet--if this were a typical manicure using OPI polish, for example, it would have chipped already within 24-hours--I am hard on my hands and nails!! I am not a prima Donna--I actually use my hands in everyday tasks! And I almost forgot--best part I can use normal nail polish remover anytime I wish to take off. No more siting at the nail salon while they wrap your nails in soaked remover and tin foil! I hated depending on the salon to do that--and now I have the longevity of a shellac manicure, but the ease of taking the polish off anytime (or to touch up as I wish.) And instead of a $25.00 shellac + $6.00 tip---it's now a $10.00 manicure + $5.00 tip :-) And best of all, no more damaging my nail bed or hands with the ultra violet light....WIN, WIN. Thanks, Revlon! If anything changes, I will update. But for now, I'd say Gel Envy is an excellent product. Just be patient as you apply and dry!

This is the best nail polish that I have ever worn. I am about ready to just throw away all my other nail polish and only use gel envy. That is all I have bought since I first tried it. It stays on for at least a week and if it chips it's very minimal on the edges. It stays on fine without the top coat but the top coat gives it a little bit more of a shine. I often wear it without the top coat just because I'm in a hurry and don't feel like waiting for three coats to dry. I get the best results when I use two coats of the color and one coat of top coat. The colors are great every time they're on sale I buy a few more shades.
